At this year’s Geo Connect Asia (GCA), which is co-located with Digital Construction Asia, Marine & Hydro Asia, and Drones & Uncrewed Asia, a range of seminars will take place to explore the future of geospatial and construction industries. The event will be held at the Sands Expo and Convention Centre in Singapore on 9-10 April 2025.
Themed ‘Construction in the age of AI – innovation and sustainability shaping tomorrow’s built environment’, the Digital Construction Asia Forum will engage a strongly focused community looking to accelerate the digitalisation of the industry. Key themes include:
-
Reshaping construction processes through data – getting ready for AI and automation
-
Adopting sustainable practices – moving towards net-zero and circular economy through digital twins
-
Tapping into emerging tech – integrating robotics, modular and VR/AR for efficiency and precision
-
Ensuring regional collaboration – cross-border projects and partnerships driving innovation
-
Unlocking future-ready workforce – upskilling, inclusivity and attracting new talent
-
Investing in construction innovation – funding trends and strategies for scaling impactful construction tech
The Digital Underground Connect seminar, themed ‘The power of the digital underground twin – enabling smart, safe and sustainable asset management and infrastructure development’, will highlight advancements in subsurface utility mapping, digital twin technology and asset management for facilities and critical infrastructure.
Attendees can gain insights from industry experts on how emerging technologies are revolutionising underground geospatial data management across Southeast Asia and beyond. Key themes include:
-
Insights from national and city-wide subsurface utility mapping programmes, including Singapore
-
Effective use of underground digital twins for infrastructure planning, design and construction
-
Leveraging new and emerging technologies for improved productivity and data quality
-
Solutions for facility management and underground asset management
-
Developing capabilities to meet increasing demands for reliable digital underground data
-
Policies and regulations shaping how data is produced, managed and used
In addition, the inaugural APAC Earth Observation (EO) Forum will be an integral part of GCA 2025. This new programme (on 10 April) will focus on addressing the regional challenges of securing a climate resilient future – bringing together policymakers, solutions providers, risk assessment experts, corporate and vulnerable communities to discuss pressing issues relating to climate change and how to respond.
With the theme ‘Managing risk, enhancing resilience and shaping a climate-secure future,’ the APAC EO Forum will cover topics on EO infrastructure, the diverse landscapes of Asia Pacific (APAC) and sustainability. It will feature keynotes, panel discussions and interactive sessions aimed at unlocking the potential of EO technologies, including Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) and hyperspectral imaging, and advancing their integration into essential sectors such as construction and insurance.
