AtkinsRéalis names Richard Robinson president for Asia, ME and Australia

Global engineering company AtkinsRéalis has appointed Richard Robinson as president for Asia, Middle East and Australia (AMEA), effective 1 March 2025. He was most recently president for UK and Ireland.

In his new role, Mr Robinson will oversee the company’s considerable expansion in the AMEA region, building on its long-standing local presence in rapidly growing markets through the delivery of major infrastructure, transportation and clean energy programmes. Meanwhile, Chris Ball has been named president for UK and Ireland.

Mr Robinson joined AtkinsRéalis in 2019. He has over 25 years’ experience of overseeing transformational levels of business growth in senior leadership positions in heavy industry and engineering. He has a wealth of international experience, including leading large businesses in the Middle East: prior to joining the company in 2019, he was chief operating officer at HS2 and has also held senior positions at AECOM, BAA Heathrow and Anglo American.

“These internal appointments to lead two of our core regions reflect the strength and experience we have within AtkinsRéalis,” said Ian Edwards, president and CEO of AtkinsRéalis. “I am confident that their knowledge of our organisation, our clients and the countries we operate in will strengthen our ability to drive growth and deliver excellence in the UK, Ireland and AMEA, and I’m delighted to welcome both Chris and Richard into their new roles within the company.”

AtkinsRéalis has a strong presence in AMEA and is playing a key role in shaping the region’s continuous transformation through major projects, such as New Murabba and the Mukaab – Riyadh’s ambitious vision for a new modern downtown; Athlon by Aldar – Dubai’s community focused on wellbeing; Neom’s The Line; the Hong Kong - Shenzhen Western Rail Link and Hong Kong International Airport; the Sydney Metro; Western Sydney Airport project; the Landmark 81 building in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam; and the Riyadh Metro.
