Snorkel manufactures A38E electric boom lift at Jintan facility

Snorkel has recently launched the production of the A38E electric articulated boom at its assembly facility in Jintan, Jiangsu Province, China. The company said the 3,000 sq m facility is the second manufacturing location for this model, and will supply the domestic China market. The Snorkel A38E is also built at Snorkel's manufacturing facility in the UK, which will continue to ship to customers worldwide.

This is the fourth model to be introduced to Snorkel's Jintan assembly facility, following the S3219E and S4732E electric slab scissors in 2017, and the Snorkel A46JE electric articulated boom lift in 2018. Subject to demand, Snorkel will introduce additional product lines in the future as required to support domestic customers in China.

“The Snorkel A38E has long been a popular model in China, particularly in industrial applications, and it is with great pleasure that we announce that we will be manufacturing this unit domestically to meet increasing customer demand,” said Matthew Elvin, CEO at Snorkel. “This is the fourth Snorkel model to be manufactured here in China, and we have plans to add more models in the future, growing our assembly at an appropriate speed and scale to support the market.”

Snorkel's A-series articulating boom lifts combine high manoeuvrability with clean and quiet operation, delivering working heights of up to 16 m from zero emission, battery-powered machines. Lightweight but durable and reliable, the Snorkel A38E offers a working height up to 13.5 m and up to 6.1 m of outreach. The up-and-over articulated/telescopic boom design provides the operator with an excellent working envelope, and now features powered platform rotation and Snorkel Guard secondary guarding as standard.

Capable of working to heights up to 16 m, the two-wheel drive Snorkel A46JE is a battery-electric version of the A46JRT. With a working outreach of 7.35 m and a jib length of 1.5 m, this self-propelled boom is a versatile performer. The spacious 1.83 m x 1.0 m platform can lift two people with tools, while offering powered 160-degree rotation.

Designed to deliver low total ownership costs, Snorkel electric slab scissor lifts are packed with features that benefit both the owner and operator. The Snorkel S3219E has a working height of 7.79 m and a lift capacity of 250 kg. Measuring just 1.78 m x 0.81 m, this compact lift can be driven through a standard doorway, and can be used outdoors by one person.

The Snorkel S4732E is the largest lift in the company’s family of electric slab scissor lifts. Weighing in at 2,693 kg, the this model can lift 350 kg to a working height of 11.8 m and features a 1.21 m roll-out extension deck for additional reach.

In addition, the S3970RT is the largest in the line of compact diesel-powered rough terrain scissor lifts from Snorkel. Offering a maximum working height of 13.8 m, the Snorkel S3970RT has a lift capacity of 350 kg from a chassis that is 1.8 m wide. Its narrow dimensions and roll-out deck extension are ideal for outdoor work in confined spaces. With four-wheel drive to tackle rough terrain with ease, the S3970RT is also equipped with outriggers as standard for the ultimate versatility.
