The joint venture of Penta-Ocean Construction, TOA Corporation, Nissan Construction, PT Pembangunan Perumahan and PT Wijaya Karya has been awarded a 50 billion yen contract for the Patimban Port Development Project – Package 1 in Indonesia.

The project, located in the eastern part of Jakarta, is expected to be completed in 25 months. It will include pier construction (420-m-long container terminal berth and 300-m-long car terminal berth), dredging and reclamation works, soil improvement, pavement and building works, sewer and storm water drainage works, as well as M&E works.

When completed, the new Patimban Port is expected to diversify cargo transportation that has been concentrating in Tanjung Priok Port and will also help improve logistical efficiency in the area.

The project is funded under the ODA loan scheme of Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA). Penta-Ocean Construction, TOA Corporation and Rinkai Nissan Construction have previously worked together on other ODA-financed projects in Indonesia, as well as on other developments including petrochemical and LNG-related facilities.
