China State Construction Engineering Corporation Limited (Singapore Branch) recently completed the construction of Downtown Line 3’s Kaki Bukit and Geylang Bahru Stations, and is currently involved in the design and construction of North-South Line’s Canberra Station. The contractor is also in a joint venture with Nishimatsu Construction Co Ltd to construct the CCL6 Keppel Station and tunnels.

In total, LTA has awarded approximately S$2.27 billion worth of contracts for the civil construction of Keppel, Cantonment and Prince Edward Stations, associated tunnels and Kim Chuan Depot extension for CCL6. Works are expected to commence by end-2017 and be completed in 2025.

The 4-km CCL6 will have three stations - Keppel, Cantonment and Prince Edward - and will close the loop for the CCL by connecting HarbourFront Station to Marina Bay Station. When the CCL6 stations are completed in 2025, the CCL will have a total of 33 stations, including 12 interchange stations with other MRT lines. It will also expand the rail network to areas such as Spottiswoode and the southern edge of our existing CBD.

With CCL6, commuters will enjoy a direct route between areas in the west, such as Pasir Panjang and Kent Ridge, key employment areas in the Central Business District, and upcoming developments in the Marina Bay area. Commuters travelling from areas such as Paya Lebar and Mountbatten will also enjoy quicker and more direct access to the retail and office centres in the HarbourFront area (see map of CCL6 below).
