Manitou Asia has appointed Abomar Equipment Sales Corporation as the official dealer for Gehl equipment in the Philippines. This agreement marks another important step in expanding Manitou Asia’s footprint in Southeast Asia.

Under this partnership, Abomar will distribute Gehl’s full range of equipment, including telehandlers, backhoe loaders, skid steer loaders and track loaders, across its nationwide network. With branches in Cebu, Cagayan de Oro, Pasig, Mandaue, Bacolod, Alae and Davao, Abomar brings extensive local coverage and market knowledge, making the company an ideal partner to represent Gehl in the region.

Manitou Group is working actively on the development of electric and hydrogen-powered machines. After presenting an initial prototype of a fixed telehandler with an 18-m lifting height and 4-t load capacity in December 2022, the group is taking another step forward. At bauma, a second telehandler prototype concept will be unveiled, powered by green hydrogen via a fuel cell, guaranteeing a zero-emission solution.

\n\n

Another highlight is two electric models of high-lift telehandlers that are entirely zero-emission. These high-performance machines, which comply with Low Emission Zone (LEZ) regulations, offer a full day’s working autonomy. They are also designed for operator comfort, with a new cab featuring improved visibility over current models and low noise levels.

\n\n

In addition, Manitou’s new MRT rotating telehandler is designed for high-rise lifts. It features a lifting height of over 30 m and engine power of 175 hp. The machine’s benefits include faster positioning and fewer movements, high capacity combined with the ability to work in very tight site conditions, increased mobility on site, reduced crane rental costs and operator expenses, all with a smaller footprint than a traditional crane.

\n\n

The innovative track loader solution for cable construction during ongoing rail operations will also be on site. This solution represents an optimal alternative to conventional underground cable construction and is faster, more effective and more resource-efficient. These compact loaders emit fewer emissions than traditional machines used for this type of application, which reduces the environmental impact of this activity. There is only minimal interference with the construction section and the need to close off the railroad area can be minimised.

\n\n

For the industrial sector, Manitou will be showcasing the new ME 430 Lift electric forklift truck powered with lithium-ion batteries, which has a load capacity of up to 3.5 t and, with its zero-emission drive, is particularly suitable for internal transport in closed or emission-sensitive environments.

\n\n

As for Gehl machines, visitors can find a selection of articulated loaders, skid steer and track loaders. Gehl skid steers are known for their high performance and low maintenance requirements – ideal for demanding applications on construction sites. A large choice of attachments will be presented during the show such as mulchers, graders, cold planers or concrete mixing buckets.

\n\n

Manitou also strengthens its range of electric charging solutions with a new outboard fast charger (30 kW), designed for maximum efficiency and extended compatibility with the MT range (telehandlers) and ME Lift electric ranges (forklifts). It will meet the requirements of different markets with adapted plugs and specific voltages, with country-specific adapters being validated for maximum compatibility.

Manitou Group has launched its new V-series compact skid steer loaders and VT-series compact track loaders, which are available under both the Gehl and Manitou brands. These new machines have a capacity of 2,100 to 2,750 lbs (about 952 to 1,247 kg).

\n\n

The V-series skid steer loaders include: the Manitou 2100 V, 2300 V and 2750 V models, and the Gehl V210, V230 and V275 models. The VT-series track loaders include: the Manitou 2100 VT, 2300 VT and 2750 VT models, and the Gehl VT210, VT230 and VT275 models.

\n\n

“We have focused on improvements in five main areas: safety, comfort, productivity, simplification and serviceability,” said Nathan Ryan, compact loader line manager at Manitou Group. “All models are vertical lift and feature a new lift arm design. The driver’s station has also been redesigned with an improved version of our patented folding door. The new cab also offers some of the best visibility on the market, thanks to a new window and roof design.”

\n\n

The breakout force is now 12% higher on average – compared to the previous range – and the tank capacity has been increased by 14%, allowing users to enjoy greater productivity. The new loaders feature keyless start requiring only code activation, LED lighting and a pilot joystick system as standard, adjacent to the operator’s seat. Numerous innovations also facilitate maintenance with a lifting cab and centralised maintenance points.

\n\n

For extra comfort, the track loader range is equipped as standard with the ‘IdealTrax’ system, ensuring automatic track tensioning and extending the life of the tracks. Various options (such as additional LEDs on the sides, high hydraulic flow, rear camera, etc) are also available to meet the requirements of each user.

\n\n

Manitou said the total cost of ownership (TCO) of these new machines has been reduced, with the VT 210 model, for example, boasting a TCO of only US$20 per hour, representing an average reduction of 7.2% over the previous model range.

Case Construction Equipment, part of CNH Industrial group, has brought in to the Asia Pacific market its next generation of skid steer loaders (SSLs) and compact track loaders (CTLs) with the introduction of the new B-series — offering radial and vertical lift patterns, as well as numerous horsepower and size classes, to provide customers with the equipment choices best suited to their operations.

\n\n

The Case SSLs and CTLs are enhanced to deliver a completely new and intuitive operating experience while also standing up to the rigors of heavy earthmoving and attachment use. The B-series retains the styling of previous Case loaders, but critical operational systems have been re-engineered to boost performance, and fully integrated with new control and operator interfaces to give contractors a powerful combination of productivity, efficiency and convenience.

\n\n

The B-series loaders feature a redesigned operator interface, including new left- and right-hand posts with simple ignition, push-button operation, easy throttle control and intuitive switches for all core machine functions. When choosing the specifications for a new machine, customers may choose between standard mechanical, mechanical hand-and-foot, and electro-hydraulic controls. Electro-hydraulic models provide the additional simplicity of switching between ISO and H operating patterns with a simple touch of a button.

\n\n

The Case loaders offer 360-degree visibility enhanced by a cab-wide rearview mirror that comes as standard on all machines. The low entry threshold and large front window provide excellent visibility to the front of the machine and down to the attachment. Large side windows and a wide curved rear window provide great sightlines towards the sides and the rear of the machine.

\n\n

Rear visibility is further aided by low-profile rear hoods, and an extremely low-profile H-Link on vertical-lift models that is better at avoiding impeded rear visibility compared to most competitors’ equipment, according to Case.

\n\n

The extremely low entry threshold built into each machine allows drivers easy entry and exit from the cab. Case boasts one of the widest cabs in the industry on its SSLs and CTLs, leading to greater comfort and better operator positioning.

\n\n

Joysticks on electro-hydraulic models have been designed with a narrower, more comfortable grip, and a closer switch layout with a smaller head-size for easier operation. The electro-hydraulic pods on each joystick have also been made smaller, giving the operator more legroom inside the cab.

\n\n

Mechanically controlled models of the SR210B and larger models also feature servo-assisted joysticks, for easier operation and less operator fatigue. Moreover, the cupholder and storage areas in select models have been repositioned to give more legroom, while options such as a Bluetooth radio and heated seats further improve total operator comfort.

\n\n

The new B-series is designed with powerful breakout forces, a range of auxiliary hydraulic options that allow each machine to run hundreds of attachments, and highly stable wheel and track bases that permit operators to work with confidence on any type of terrain. The full range of vertical- and radial-lift machines provide excellent options for every application, from concentrated groundwork and grading to truck loading and material handling.

\n\n

In terms of attachment operation, the Case B-series offers either standard, high-flow or enhanced high-flow auxiliary hydraulics with pressures up to 267 bars for running high-capacity hydraulic attachments such as cold planers and mulchers. In addition, all models feature a connect-under-pressure manifold design that allows for quick and tool less disconnection of hydraulic lines.

\n\n

Other optional features such as ride control and self-levelling further improve overall operator performance and efficiency.
