Geo Connect Asia 2024 all set to open on 6 March

Geo Connect Asia (GCA) 2024 is all set to open its door next week, taking place on 6-7 March at the Sands Expo and Convention Centre in Singapore. With the theme ‘Geospatial Driven Impacts: Underground, Land and Sea to Sky’, the event will bring together more than 100 companies, 70 speakers and more than 3,000 attendees from ASEAN and beyond.

Organised by Singapore-based Montgomery Asia, GCA 2024 will be held alongside three co-located shows: Digital Construction Asia, Drones & Uncrewed Asia and the inaugural Marine & Hydro Asia.

A number of major players and government agencies have confirmed their attendance at GCA 2024, including AECOM, Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT), Lands Department Hong Kong, Petronas, Manila Water and Portcoast (Vietnam), Ministry of Health Singapore (MOH) and Singapore Land Authority (SLA), among others. There will be also pavilions from Singapore and Thailand.

Solutions within the geospatial and related industries link ASEAN countries to one another and open opportunities to address borderless challenges in areas such as infrastructure development, environmental monitoring, supply chain management and natural resource management. This is evident from the burgeoning Asia Pacific geospatial information and technology market, which is projected to grow in value to US$216 billion by 2025.

With ASEAN’s population of over 660 million and its strong ties to the maritime, agricultural and natural resource sectors, there is a common ground for sharing solutions and fostering collaboration. As local needs drive innovation, expertise is flourishing in areas such as remote sensing and location-based analytics; these, combined with rapidly advancing geospatial solutions, add predictability for planning and addressing key challenges such as rising sea levels and the monitoring of key infrastructure.

Drones & Uncrewed Asia

Themed ‘Delivering solutions for an expanding Asian UAV ecosystem’, Drones & Uncrewed Asia (D&UA) will provide a meeting place for the region’s UAV industries. The event will feature the latest in aerial, unmanned and ground-based solutions.

Driven by the increasing and diverse use cases of drones across multiple sectors – from under the sea, beneath the ground and into the sky, the global drone industry is flying. The Asian drone market alone is forecast to reach a staggering US$54.6 billion by 2030, fuelled by the high number of companies offering services like mapping, surveying, inspection and delivery (36%), as well as drone training and education (17%).

The D&UA event will offer a comprehensive platform for industry leaders, innovators and stakeholders in the private and public domains to foster meaningful collaboration on critical issues like standardisation, regulation and technology integration, ultimately accelerating innovation and shaping the future trajectory of the Asian drone industry.
