RX Japan has officially opened its exhibitor registration for JAPAN BUILD Tokyo 2025, Japan’s premier exhibition for the building and construction industry.

Scheduled for 10–12 December 2025 at Tokyo Big Sight, the event is expected to build on the momentum of the 2024 edition by offering even greater opportunities for industry professionals in Japan’s dynamic construction market.

Hilton (NYSE: HLT) announced on 16 June 2025 the signing of Hilton Takayama Resort in partnership with Central Japan Railway Company and its subsidiaries—JR Tokai Real Estate Co., Ltd. and JR Tokai Hotels Co., Ltd.

The JR Central Group currently operates the Hotel Associa Takayama Resort in Takayama—a renowned tourist destination in Japan known for its traditional streets, crafts, and local cuisine. The hotel will be rebranded under Hilton’s flagship Hilton Hotels & Resorts brand, marking Hilton’s first entry into Gifu Prefecture. This hotel will continue to be operated by JR Tokai Hotels Co., Ltd., which has cultivated many years of hotel management experience in Takayama.

The interior design of the hotel will be carried out by Hashimoto Yukio Design Studio, with the renovation concept theme, “Art of Mountain Folk”, inspired by the unique shapes and impressions created by the nature and craftsmanship of Takayama. This concept aims to express the beauty produced by the rich nature of Hida Takayama and the Alps, providing a higher quality and more comfortable stay.

As part of this renovation, and in addition to the existing 70 sqm suite rooms, new 90 sqm suite rooms will be added to the hotel’s total of 283 rooms. Additionally, the hotel will be establishing a new executive lounge that will be available to Diamond members of Hilton’s guest loyalty programme, Hilton Honors, as well as a new fitness centre. Hilton will provide high-quality services that will satisfy both domestic and international guests.

BAPI’s Temperature and Humidity Pendant Sensor is the perfect device to maintain optimal hot and cold aisle conditions, essential for the performance and reliability of data centres and server rooms.

The sensor comes with 3.7 metres (12 feet) of PVC-jacketed cable, allowing it to hang unobtrusively at the height and location of your choosing in the aisles. The 19th edition, running from 25 June to 25 July 2025 across the city, challenges audiences to “Don’t (Just) Think Like an Architect!”, positioning architecture not merely as building structures, but as a dynamic force shaping lives, communities, and the future of our world.

Organised by the Singapore Institute of Architects (SIA) since 2007, SGAF has gained recognition as one of the most exciting architectural events in the calendar. Under the leadership of Festival Director Rene Tan and his team at RT+Q Architects, this year’s SGAF is poised to redefine the festival with a greater focus on public engagement on design and architecture as Singapore celebrates its Diamond Jubilee.

Celebrating 60 Years Through Heritage and Innovation

\n\n

From its foundational policies and iconic public housing to sophisticated urban infrastructure, Singapore has never left design to chance. A “Nation by Design”, every step in Singapore’s 60-year journey has been deliberately planned and designed around constraints to improve lives, uplift its people, and make every inch of space count.

SGAF 2025 shines a special spotlight on this legacy at the vibrant Katong-Joo Chiat precinct in collaboration with the Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA). The festival aims to enliven the precinct and tap into community interest for locals to understand their city and their heritage via exciting programmes planned throughout the month. This iconic neighbourhood is a testament to Singapore’s changing skyline, where modern and old architecture seamlessly coexist, providing a rich backdrop for exploring how architecture has profoundly influenced the nation’s identity.

In celebration of SG60, SGAF will be gathering 60 Singapore architects for a day of dialogues in the Architects Roundtable—a remarkable cross-section of pioneers, trailblazers, educators, and emerging talents who have shaped our city. For the first time, they will open their portfolios to share their unbuilt works, reflect Singapore’s bold journey over six decades, and engage in frank discussions on what it means to think not just as architects, but collectively explore how to design for a better, more imaginative, and more sustainable future.

Other events that took place during the show included The Chinese Original Carpet Design Show, which attracted over 140 submissions from 60 designers representing 22 companies. In a celebration of creativity, 41 designers were honoured, and 43 exceptional works were exhibited, with 9 prestigious awards granted.

The China Flooring Innovation Summit, held in partnership with the China National Forest Products Industry Association Flooring Committee, focused on high-quality development. Hilton has signed two hotels in partnership with GMR Group-led Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL) under its Waldorf Astoria and Hilton Hotels & Resorts brands. The hotels will be located at GMR Aerocity, New Delhi—India’s first global business district with world-class hotels, restaurants and premier future-ready offices at Delhi International Airport.

These developments will bring Hilton’s luxury and full-service brands to the heart of the capital’s best-connected hospitality and commercial district. The projects strengthen Hilton’s presence in New Delhi and the National Capital Region (NCR), an area already home to four Hilton properties.

The signing includes the debut of Waldorf Astoria in India’s capital, underscoring Hilton’s long-term commitment to India’s fast-growing luxury market. The hotel will feature 150 rooms and suites, as well as signature dining experiences, large event spaces and indulgent wellness amenities. Guests will also experience Peacock Alley, the iconic gathering space at the heart of every Waldorf Astoria.

The Singapore Interior Design Awards (SIDA) 2025 has announced the official opening of its call for entries. Organised by the Society of Interior Designers Singapore (SIDS), SIDA is now in its 9th edition. It stands as a beacon for recognising exceptional projects and practitioners across the spatial and interior design industry, inviting submissions from around the globe.

SIDA 2025 aims to showcase interior design projects that push boundaries, exemplify excellence, and set new benchmarks for the industry.

Significantly, this year’s SIDA will emphasise local Singaporean designers and their groundbreaking works. This commitment is underscored by reserving six special awards exclusively for local practitioners: Design Firm of the Year, Designer of the Year, Lifetime Achievement Award, Design Educator of the Year, Design of the Year and Young Designer of the Year. These dedicated categories seek to celebrate and propel the unique contributions of local talent, reinforcing Singapore’s identity as a global city by design.
